I have the privilege of fostering Ms. Quinn and to tell you about her!
Quinn is a female, full cocker spaniel. She is estimated to be 6 or 7 years young. She is primarily black with a white chest patch.
Quinn came to DFW Cocker Spaniel Rescue through a DFW area City animal shelter- apparently her owners could no longer care for her. Quinn is an excellent companion. She is house trained and uses a dog door at our home. Quinn sleeps on a comfy dog bed in our bedroom at night and we have not needed to crate her.
At first Quinn was rather quiet, but she has started to pick up her fur brother’s bad habit and now barks for attention when I get home from work and when we are getting ready to go for a walk. She has three foster brothers and they all get along great. Quinn has her food station and she eagerly runs and waits in her spot for her meals. We have snack time in the evenings, at first Quinn was moving all around for her treat turn, now she patiently waits for me to hand her the snack that she takes gently from my hand. My nick name for Quinn is Miss Piggy - she immediately appears anytime there is food!
Quinn walks great on a leash and cannot wait for you to take her out on walks. We have been working on her sit command but she is still confused by this command- it is probably because she is blind and not able to see her fur brothers example of sitting.
Despite her blindness, she is a Velcro dog and will follow you about the home just as any sighted dog would. She seeks affection and loves to be petted and have her belly rubbed. She needs to be picked up to sit with us on the couch or take a nap, and she will wait to be helped down.
Quinn’s only need is daily eye drops to keep her eyes moist. The drops are not expensive and easy to apply. Quinn is waiting patiently for that special family that will open their heart and home to her.
Quinn is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed and microchipped.
If you would like to meet Quinn, please complete our adoption application and put her name at the top. Http://dfwcockerrescue.org/
