Sly came to our rescue from a local Veterinarian when his family could no longer care for him. Despite losing his home, Sly is forever the optimist! This happy boy shows his pleasure in his forever wagging little tail. Sly is very social and seeks to be with his foster Mom and Dad wherever they go from room to room. He is happy to sit with you on the couch or lay nicely at your feet, but he loves, loves to go on walks as well.

In his foster home, when the family is on errands, Sly is well behaved and does not need to be crated. He can be a little mischievous and if he thinks there is food on top of a table or counters, he will do his best to jump up and investigate and hope he hits the jackpot.

Sly grew up with a lot of ear infections which caused his ear canals to become scarred and painful. A surgery called Ear Canal Ablation was done on both ears. This permanently closes the ear canal so he can no longer get ear infections. Sly can hear very loud sounds, but relies primarily on sight and smell.

He is house trained (foster has a dog door) and he is good with other dogs. Sly is a little piggy when it comes to eating, so his foster parents have to watch him at feeding times so he does not get into the other dogs food. After each meal, any unfinished bowls are picked up. Sly is well mannered at treat time and will sit nicely and wait for his turn when hand feeding treats, but if Sly misbehaves and gets ahold of a treat bag or food he considers high value he will get possessive if someone tries to take his food away.

Sly will do fine as an only dog or with a family with other pets. He interacted with a pet sitter's cats who are used to dogs. He was curious of the cat, showed no aggressive behavior toward the cat.

If you would like to meet Sly, please complete our adoption application and put his name at the top.
