Walker is an active 7-9 years old (opinions vary), he has white on his chest and tail as well as his muzzle so that makes him look older than he is. Walker came to us from a shelter in Texas, who begged our rescue to take him. Who could turn down that sweet face! He was found as a stray so we are not sure of his breed, but we think possibly a spaniel mix. He is shaved short right now, but will have long hair that will need brushing and grooming as it grows out.
Walker is a sweetheart and just wants someone to love him, give him toys, take him for walks and allow him to look adoringly at you all the time. He walks very well on leash and will sit for his treats. He loves to play with toys and will run and 'pounce' on his victim toy and shake it like crazy. He would be great as an only dog or with other dogs, but he is a bit of an attention hog and can get jealous of the other dogs. He does correct easily when he misbehaves.
He is fully house trained and has never had an accident inside the house and he can use a dog door as well. I can even walk him off leash in my little neighborhood with no issues as he stays fairly close. He is hard of hearing, so I do have an electronic dog collar I use to get his attention if needed. His eyes look cloudy, but he seems to see just fine.
Walker will need a foster home by September 30th. If you would like to foster him, please complete our foster/ adoption application and put his name at the top. http://dfwcockerrescue.org/ under Adoptions, Adoption Information.
