Ginger is a pretty 11 year old sable registered Cocker Spaniel. She is slow to warm up to people, but once in her foster home she bonded with both my wife and me. She is friendly, gets along with our two Cocker Spaniels. She is fed in same room with them and has shown no food aggression. At Meet & Greet events she has growled at very small children who approach her too fast, but she has not snapped at anyone.
Ginger is house trained and has learned to use a doggy door. She knows commands for sit, down, shake, high five and will “woof” for a treat. She does not get on furniture or the bed, but does want to be in the room with her people. She has learned to stay out of the kitchen when we are cooking. She does have glaucoma in her left eye which requires eye drops once a day, which she tolerates for a treat. Ginger is a very smart girl who is easily trained.
Ginger does bark at outside noises and will howl and bark when you leave her alone, so she would do best in a home instead of an apartment. She will sometimes give you a quiet woof to get your attention, but she is content to just be in the room with her family without asking for interaction. Ginger tries to play our other dogs (who are older and just ignore her), so she would do well in a home with another dog to play with.
