Please note: Due to the current situation with COVID-19 (Corona) virus, in-person home visits are not possible at this time. Since this is a very important part of finding the best home for our dogs, we are not accepting any applications from first-time pet owners, applicants who have not had a pet in the past 3 years, or applicants who cannot furnish vet records. We hope you understand and that you will consider applying to adopt once the shelter-in-place restrictions have been lifted.
Lacey is an adorable little 20 lb black & white Cocker Spaniel who is estimated to be around 10 years old. She is the sweetest thing you have ever met. All she wants is to be near you and loved. Most of all, Lacey LOVES her food! She is shy at first, but loves her humans and gets along well with her foster siblings, although we are not sure about cats. She would also be happy as a single dog that gets all the attention.
Lacey had a rough start. She had heartworms, she was overweight and blind from cataracts, but she is now healthy and she can see! It has been so much fun to watch her personality come out after cataract surgery. She is now an avid squirrel watcher!
She does great in a car, sleeps with her foster Mom at night and will need follow up visits for her eyes and continued eye drops. Lacey is not completely house broken and may never be. When I first got her she would not go outside at all. Now she is about 95 percent trained but is in a constant state of training. She is current on vaccinations, heartworm and flea meds.
The best home for Lacey would be with someone who will be patient with her shyness and house training as she transitions into her new home, calm environment and a backyard.
If you would like to meet Lacey, please complete our adoption application and put her name at the top. http://dfwcockerrescue.org/ under Adoptions, Adoption Information.
