About

Meet Archie!

Hi there! My name is Archie, and I’m a sweet, loving, energetic Cocker Spaniel mix looking for my forever family. I’m estimated to be between 2 and 4 years old and weigh about 26 pounds. Plus, I have a full tail. 🙂

My journey hasn’t been the easiest. I was found as a stray, and a kind Good Samaritan took me in while trying to locate my family. When no one came forward and a local rescue couldn’t find a foster home for me, DFW Cocker Spaniel Rescue stepped in and gave me a second chance. Now I’m safe, loved, and ready to find a family of my own!

My foster mom says I have enough energy to keep everyone smiling. I love playing fetch, going for walks, following my foster parents around the house, and being wherever the action is. I’m very people-oriented and thrive on attention and affection. I love being around my people and prefer not to be left alone for long periods of time.

I get along wonderfully with my foster dog brothers and enjoy making new friends—both canine and human. Because I’m such a social boy, I would likely love a home with another playful dog and children who enjoy having a fun-loving companion around.

I’m crate trained and sleep quietly in my crate at night, although I’d much rather be near my people. I’m also working hard on my house training and making great progress. Like many young dogs, I still have an occasional accident, but I’m learning more every day.

My foster mom believes I may have a little separation anxiety, as I’ve chewed up my bed a few times when left in my crate during the day. With patience, consistency, and plenty of love, I’m learning that being alone isn’t so scary. I’ll do best with a family that can provide companionship and help me continue building my confidence.

I have a healthy appetite and am fed separately from my foster brothers during mealtime to keep everyone happy and comfortable.

I am scheduled to be neutered on June 10 and will be available for adoption once I’ve fully recovered. The good news is that I’m in excellent health and heartworm negative.

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, playful companion who will bring joy, laughter, and endless love into your life, I may be the perfect match for you!

If you would like to meet Archie, please complete our adoption/foster application (they’re the same) and put his name at the top.  Our application and detailed info about our process can be found on our website: https://dfwcockerrescue.org/adoption-process/
