About

Meet Henry! 🐾

If you’re looking for a gentle giant who balances quiet observation with a deep, soulful curiosity, Henry is your guy. At 3 years old and a sturdy 55 pounds, he is a big, handsome boy with an equally big heart—he just takes a brief moment to open it up to new friends.

Once Henry feels safe, his curious side completely takes over. He loves exploring the world at his own pace, taking in all the sniffs on his walks, and finding the absolute perfect spot to lay outside in the grass and soak up the sunshine.

Here is the quick scoop on what makes Henry special:

The Way to His Heart: Food! Henry is highly food-motivated, which makes training and bonding a breeze.

Smart Cookie: He already knows “sit” (especially if a tasty treat is involved) and is eager to learn more.

His Petting Preferences: Henry is a total cuddle bug, but he has one little rule—please no pets on top of his head. He finds it a bit overwhelming. But scratches on his chin, chest, back, and sides? He will lean in and soak those up all day long!

Henry would thrive in a patient home that understands a little initial shyness just means the payoff is that much sweeter. If you have a sunny backyard and a pocket full of treats, Henry is ready to be your loyal, walking-buddy companion for life.

If you would like to meet Henry, please complete our adoption/foster application (they’re the same) and put his name at the top.  Our application and detailed info about our process can be found on our website: https://dfwcockerrescue.org/adoption-process/

If you are already an approved adopter or foster, please contact us at dfwcsr.adoptions@gmail.com.
