Update on Benny 3/23/25
Benny is currently doing well and he’s ready to start training in his foster home to establish calm behavior and reduce his anxiety.
Benny is a handsome young Cocker mix, estimated to be 2-3 years old. He came to DFW Cocker Spaniel Rescue as a stray, severely underweight and heartworm positive, but that is behind him now.
He doesn’t care much about toys. Given his start in life he may not understand what they are, but he would probably enjoy chasing a ball and some playful interaction. The ideal home for Benny would have no other pets or young children. He would do best with someone who works from home or is home most of the time.
Benny is strong and smart. He enjoys affection and likes to be near his people. If you work from home he will keep you company in your office. He loves to go for walks, sniffing around, and “commenting” on everything outdoors.
Benny needs stability to help him learn a routine and gain trust, which will help him build the confidence that can lower his anxiety.
We will post updates on Benny’s training as we follow his progress.
