About
Due to the current situation with the COVID-19 (Corona) virus, in-person home visits are not possible at this time. Since this is a very important part of finding the best home for our dogs, we are not accepting any applications from first-time pet owners, applicants who have not had a pet in the past 3 years, or applicants who cannot furnish vet records. We hope you understand and that you will consider applying to adopt once the shelter-in-place restrictions have been lifted.
Little Miss Cheyenne is about 8 1/2 years old and about 22 pounds. She has the most beautiful golden eyes. She had a very rough start in life and didn’t know how to “dog”. DFWCSR came in and helped her get a new lease on life. She came to us in September not knowing how to live in a home or be around humans or other dogs.
Now, 3 months later, she is ready to go live in her forever home. She has discovered to joy of being outside, chasing squirrels and birds. She follows her foster siblings around and has learned so much from them. She is a great eater, loves to snuggle and her little nubby tail is always going full speed!
Chey is a very quiet little girl who wants to be with her human all the time. She will follow you wherever you go. She’s so quiet, that sometimes you won’t know she’s there! She still struggles with getting into a car, but rides very well once she’s in. She also struggles with leashes and going on walks, but we keep trying. I think she’d love to be pushed in a dog-stroller.
Chey does her #2 business outside, but wears the cutest doggie diapers while inside. She’s about 50/50 for going #1 outside. If she had someone willing to spend the time and patience and love on her housetraining, she’d be 100%.
Chey is the really the sweetest dog. She’s gentle, quiet and just wants to be loved on. She snuggles like it’s her JOB! She’d make an excellent companion to someone that is home often, and she’d love a dog sibling to learn the ropes from.
