About
Cooper is a 5-year old buff Cocker Spaniel weighing in at 23 lbs. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, is on heartworm medication and has regular tick and flea applications. He has progressed well and is in a much better physical and mental state that when he joined us a few months ago. I know that given the time and dedication to training he will be an amazing, loyal companion for someone.
Cooper needs to be a one owner dog. He will listen to the person he trusts. He prefers women over men (but he adores my house sitter/dog sitter). He should NOT be in a home with children. When he is sweet, he is 100% sweet, but he can be fearful of unfamiliar people. He is great with other dogs and will benefit from another balanced dog in the home.
We have had a trainer work with Cooper at home. He shared that Cooper responds best to a few simple verbal commands. He would benefit from training sessions at home to ensure that total focus was on him and his rehab. We are committed to reinforcing the training at our home to help him find his person.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion and have the love and patience to give so he feels safe, Cooper is your boy. He is looking for his forever home with no more shuffling around. This little chap has so much love to give and we want the best life for him. Cooper is house trained. I have not tried to crate him due to his PTSD, but when we need to isolate him, he does fine in another room with his bed.
Cooper is a sweet boy who has a few issues. He is loving and smart but sometimes is over protective of his person. He needs an experienced Cocker owner who will help him relax and enjoy new people.
