About
Due to the current situation with the COVID-19 (Corona) virus, in-person home visits are not possible at this time. Since this is a very important part of finding the best home for our dogs, we are not accepting any applications from first-time pet owners, applicants who have not had a pet in the past 3 years, or applicants who cannot furnish vet records. We hope you understand and that you will consider applying to adopt once restrictions have been lifted.
I’m told that Dolly is around 7-8 years old but she acts so youthful. She weighs between 14-17 pounds so she’s a petite little thing. She’s tan and white with black ears. I call her my little tortilla. She enjoys a squeaky toy and sitting next to someone on the couch.
Dolly has been surrendered twice but I cannot figure out why, although she was said to be food aggressive towards another dog. I have not seen her exhibit any such behavior. She’s certainly excited about food so we are working on taking treats more gently, and she’s made progress. She was surrendered again because “dogs are too expensive”. Her food is not terribly expensive (about $25.00 per month on Chewy.com) but it is necessary for her digestive health. She still has some tummy issues that will require someone who is patient with her. She’s currently on a prescription food that does seem to help but she needs someone who is willing and able to continue the investigation to make sure her diet is customized just for her.
She has some old injuries that seem intimidating at first, but she’s been checked out and she’s completely fine and unaffected by them. Her left eye is cloudy but it’s from an old scar and she can see perfectly from it.
Dolly thinks she is a big bad guard dog and it’s quite funny. She gets along well with other dogs and children but I’m not sure about cats. She walks well on a leash and loves to go places (walks and car rides). She listens well and is happy to sleep on a dog bed next to my side of the bed. She has been such a joy to foster and is the SWEETEST thing ever.
