Jasper deserves a BIG welcome to DFWCSR!
Jasper is a lovable 12-year-old Cocker Spaniel who deserves a chance at a better life. When he arrived at the shelter, he was severely underweight at only 14 lbs and so dehydrated he could barely stand. He is currently being monitored closely and is gaining strength through a home-cooked diet of protein, vegetables, and rice, and fed in small meals throughout the day. While Jasper is mostly deaf and shows signs of cataracts, he has adapted well and navigates his surroundings easily.
He is an eager-to-please, happy-go-lucky guy who is friendly, trusting, and gentle. Jasper is easygoing, calm, and gets along well with other dogs. He is both crate and leash trained, though he will require consistent potty training until he is reliable. He also tolerates bathing and grooming well.
Jasper is currently receiving veterinary care, including treatment for an ear infection. His neutering and dental procedures will be scheduled once he reaches a healthy weight and is strong enough for anesthesia. He is currently in foster care, where he is starting his journey to recovery and being properly spoiled.
