Lucy & Sandy – Adopted!

April 23, 2025 by

About

Lucy

Lovely little Lucy is hoping for a loving home together with her best friend, Sandy. Lucy is wary in new situations and tends to be shy until trust is gained. She is getting friendlier and more affectionate each day. Once familiar with the people, she will approach them for petting. She does enjoy cuddle sessions and being held. She is intelligent, playful, and sweet. A calm, patient home will be the best fit for Lucy and Sandy to develop their confidence and trust in people.

Lucy is playful, resilient, and fiercely devoted to Sandy. These inseparable girls depend on each other for comfort and security. For that reason, both dogs will need to be adopted together as a pair. Lucy and Sandy like toys that squeak, soft little toys to carry around, or rope toys to play tug o’ war.

They get along with other dogs in their foster home. They sleep together in a doggie bed snuggled up close. To be honest, they do everything together! Their motto is “Double the pleasure, double the fun!”

Sandy

When she first came to her foster home, Sandy was scared and skittish. She is slowly coming out of her shell. She’s a shy girl who’s not quite used to cuddling with anyone other than Lucy. She is beginning to develop some confidence and trust in people. She is getting used to snuggling and being held, and likes it for a while, but is really happiest just hanging out with Lucy. She follows her humans around from room to room in the house, but may run away when approached. A calm, patient home will help her grow a sense of security that will allow her to thrive and reach her potential.

Sandy is closely bonded with Lucy and depends on her for assurance. With Lucy by her side, she has adjusted to her foster home and now feels comfortable enough to show her playful, merry personality. The girls love to play in the backyard together, racing and chasing each other around. They will require a secure yard for them to enjoy their frisky energy and get their zoomies out! With regular opportunities to go outside, the girls rarely have an accident in the house.

Lucy and Sandy are about 10 months old, 14 pounds, spayed, and up to date on their vaccinations. After a rough start to life, they are ready to find a home where they can learn to love and be loved. They may not be 100% cocker spaniel, but they are 100% adorable!

Lucy & Sandy Pupdate

“The girls are starting their week trial and here’s our update for this morning. They’re starting to settle in. We went for a nice walk this morning. Lucy has definitely started to adjust faster to no surprise. She even walked up to me for petting and a belly rub last night and today. They’re both still very nervous at times but most of yesterday they spent in the other room under the big table, while today they’ve spent time on the couch near us. They are so so sweet and very entertaining.”

Paws crossed for the girls! 🐾
