Bodhi

December 9, 2019 by

2003 - 2018

About

This is in honor of my sweet boy, Bodhi. I adopted him in 2003 and we moved to Portland, OR in 2004. He was a west coast dog! Bodhi is the love of my life and the best dog I've ever known. I love him more than any words could express. He passed away on May 13, 2018. He had a great life. He would have been 15 in June. I adopted him when he was 9 months old so I was able to spend most of his life with him, but it wasn't long enough. I miss him every day. I want to say thank you for the sweet gift you gave me so many years ago and for all the good work you are still doing. So many people and dogs benefit from what you do. I'm just one of many. I've included a few pictures of Bodhi, one is when he was young. One is a picture of him eating tomatoes (how he loved tomatoes and watermelon). Even after he lost his eyes to glaucoma, he would smell the tomatoes and climb up in the containers to eat them. His lack of vision never stopped him from doing what he loved, and he loved his people. He was the kindest most intuitive dog I've ever known. He could sense who needed love and whose lap he could sit in and rest his head on their chest as if to reassure whoever needed it. The last picture is of him napping. He was a champion napper! He loved to find a sunny spot and settle in his bed for a cozy nap. I have so many memories and I will carry them with me forever. Thanks for remembering my little big man. Everyone should be as lucky as me to have the opportunity to love a dog so much! - Jan C.
