About
In Memoriam: Sammy
My bestest boy Sammy crossed the rainbow bridge last Friday, October 17th, one of the hardest days of my life. I can't begin to describe the sweet purity of this little soul. If he was a person, he'd have been the guy that never complains and is just happy to be along for the ride. He had a tail that never stopped wagging, almost up until the very end. He loved the simple things in life and was ecstatic just to sniff every single blade of grass in a given area.
Mitchell and I adopted Sammy in 2011, just a year after we'd been together, so Sammy has been a part of our family longer than our human son. I am still having a hard time seeing the empty spaces in my house and not hearing the tip taps of his paws. Mikey (our cat) still peeks out of the baby gate protecting his food to see if Sammy is coming.
There is an obvious void here now. I miss him dearly and still have a hard time coming to terms with him not being here. Sammy was one of the sweetest, purest souls I've ever known or ever will. ๐ ๐ถ ๐
Thank you so much, DFW Cocker Rescue, for giving me such a special companion and family member that will forever be in my heart.
