DFW Cocker Spaniel Rescue often rescues senior Cockers (ages 8 and up).
Some of these dogs may be diagnosed with medical or behavioral conditions that will require special care for the remainder of their lives. They are placed in foster homes with someone who will administer care, treatment and medication while the dogs enjoys life in a loving home environment. DFWCSR covers the cost of veterinary care, surgeries, treatment and medications for as long as the dog is in foster care.

Alex
This handsome 10- year-old Cocker Spaniel was surrendered to a shelter for euthanasia because of his chronic ear infections. DFWCSR felt that Alex deserved a second chance. He is now enjoying life in a home with his forever foster, who is willing to continue the care that Alex requires to manage his health issues.
Bailey
Little 11 year-old Bailey was found as a stray with serious eye and ear issues. She has since had eye enucleation surgery and received treatment for ear infections. Bailey is now in a forever foster home where she gets the care, the love and attention that she deserves.
Deedee
Deedee is a lovely 17 year old senior who was living in a boarding facility and in need of a real home. She has some hearing loss but she still loves her walks and beauty naps on the sofa. Deedee is now spending her days in a comfortable home where she can get the love and companionship she needs.
Molly
Fifteen-year-old alum Molly came back to DFWCSR when her owner recently passed away. This sweet girl, who is blind and deaf, will live out her golden years in a foster home where she will be loved and cared for.
O’Reilly
O’Reilly is a Cocker/Basset mix who came to DFW fearful of strangers and new surroundings. Because he is most comfortable in a quiet environment with people who are familiar to him, he will remain with his forever foster family.
Sampson
Sampson is a handsome 14-year old Cocker/Dachshund mix who is affectionate, playful and full of personality. Unfortunately, he has been diagnosed with an inoperable mast cell tumor. He will receive treatment with medication and remain in forever foster care where he can enjoy being part of a loving family for the remainder of his life.
Sunny
Sunny is a sweet little 13 year old Cocker mix who was in danger of being surrendered to a shelter. Because her obvious neglect and many health issues put her at high risk, DFWCSR rallied to rescue her. She is now receiving the veterinary care she needs and is enjoying the comfort of a loving forever foster home.
Sykora
After a life of living outside, 15 year old Sykora came to DFWCSR in need of heartworm treatment, dental care and TLC. She is now in a foster home where her health issues can be managed and she can enjoy the comforts of a loving home.
